Pregnancy diary: 18 weeks
Assalamualaikum
Alhamdulillah. I am now 18 weeks and 5 days pregnant. my first trimester was, quite challenging for me. but as the doctor noted in my pink book,
'minimal morning sickness'.
yeap, as to compare with anyone else's, mine was quite minimal. tapi tu pun rasa macam ya Allah bila nak habis first trimester ni? HAHA
baru tahu, how hard being pregnant is. i thought it was going to be fun! well, it is fun and exciting. especially now that i can feel my baby moving, rolling, dancing salsa (or maybe hiphop!) and kick boxing inside of me. it's just beautiful. i feel miraculous and i cant keep thanking Allah for blessing with this beautiful experience.
the downside was, morning sickness, cravings, series of ugly pukes, increased smell sensitivity (i cant even stand the smell of my husband!)
Allah has given me a gift at 16 weeks of pregnancy. that gift was, cold and flu.
did you know that a pregnant lady cant be prescribed with flu medication? i went to 4 clinics and none of the doctors there would dare to prescribe me medications for flu. the doctor said it can affect the baby's heart. the last doctor i visited finally prescribed me antibiotics! Thank God! i gotta tell ya, it was the worst flu i ever had my entire life! my nose was not even runny, it was just blocked and i couldnt sleep at night because i could not breath. so i was breathing through my mouth all night through, and i would wake up every 20 mins or so to cough because breathing through the mouth dries up the throat. huhu.
but, it was during one of those sleepless night, that i felt my baby kicked for the first time. terus rasa happy. :)
and then Allah sent me something. a message from the Quran.
i cried and i cried. (please excuse me, im just being a normal emotional pregnant lady=p) i realize now, how hard it is to be a mother. this ayat only reminds me of my mama and only her. how hard it must be for her to carry me in her womb back then. mama cakap, sabar. i said yeap memang tengah sabar. and also grateful actually. Allah give me sickness in pregnancy so that i will love mama more than i ever did. she didnt know this. but i cried when i replied her whatsapp. i cried everytime i read this ayat. it's true. now that i'm going to be a mother, i appreciate my mom even more. and i love her more than i ever did!
it was like. okay it's official. whatever disagreements my mama and i had was over...
well, at least for now. HAHA. what's a relationship without disagreements and arguments ey? :P
whatever it is, i pray that my baby will be a true servant of Allah, obedient to his/her parents, and become a kind and warm and big hearted person.
i love you, my child. my love for you just keep growing everyday, everytime you got too excited when i sipped banana milkshake or after i ate half boiled eggs, everytime daddy recites salawat to you, and when mommy read the Quran and then you responded, everytime you roll and dance and punch and kick. or even when you're sleeping comfortably inside my womb. i love you, every second, and i always will.
